UNCONSCIOUS PREMONITION

Concepts & Roses Recap Video.mov

CREATIVE DIRECTION

This project explores the instinctive feeling that something is about to go wrong, drawing from dreams, intuition, vulnerability, and the fear of losing control. The concept is built around the contrast between beauty and danger, creating a world that appears calm and delicate while holding an underlying sense of uncertainty.

A suspended light-blue balloon represents vulnerability and fragile calm, while cacti, succulents, and Venus flytraps create a landscape where beauty and danger coexist. Together, these elements create an ethereal, quiet, and slightly unsettlingatmosphere, capturing the moment when serenity begins to feel like a warning.

In Collaboration with: Flowers by Bornay

BRIEF

The task was to develop a unique creative concept and express it through floral language in collaboration with Flowers by Bornay in Barcelona. The project involveddeveloping the concept from initial visual explorations through to the final floralcomposition and photographic outcome.

The roles included creative direction, art direction, and photography, as well as physically constructing and arranging the floral installation. The process involved translating the conceptual themes of vulnerability, beauty, and danger into a cohesive visual world through the selection, placement, and composition of the floral elements.

MOOD BOARD & RESEARCH:

The visual direction drew from surrealism, magical realism, Tim Burton, and Bompas & Parr, combining dreamlike beauty with elements of unease. Cacti became an important reference because of their contradiction: they are visually beautiful, sculptural, and delicate while also being sharp and dangerous. This duality reflected the central idea of beauty existing alongside an underlying threat.

A suspended light-blue balloon introduced a softer, dreamlike quality, floating above the cactus landscape like something fragile and almost surreal. Its presence creates uncertainty. The viewer knows it could pop at any moment, but does not know when, reinforcing the feeling of anticipation and the unconscious sense that something is about to go wrong.
